Increasing access to HIV and AID Services in Kibera Slums
Started : Feb 2011
The project aims to help HIV and AIDs infected adults and children, female sex workers (FSW’s), grandmothers, orphaned and vulnerable children (OVCs), and child headed households to have access to better health services and improved livelihoods in the Kibera slums.
In 2000, AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria together killed approximately 6 million people a year. The devastation to countries and communities led to the creation, in 2002, of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
